Almond Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies


Almond Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/4 c. almond flour
2 T. arrowroot starch/flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. almond butter
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
3 T. oil or butter
1/2 c. honey
1 c. Enjoy Life Chocolate chips (gluten, dairy, and soy free)


1. Combine flour, salt and baking soda.
2. In a separate bowl combing almond butter, egg, vanilla, oil or butter and honey.
3. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix well.
4. Add chocolate chips to mixture.
5. Drop by teaspoon full onto parchment covered baking sheet.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-7 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on pan.
7. Serve and enjoy!

Note: Arrowroot starch is not SCD legal, replace it with 2 T. almond flour if on the SCD.

  1. These look great. I've made them with almond flour before and taken them to parties and no one seems to notice they're "different". I bet adding the almond butter makes them softer. What a great idea.

  2. Aren't the chips legal if they are made with coco butter? I have been searching for an SCD cookie and this one looks so good! YUMMY!

  3. Hi Candice, my understanding is that ANY chocolate is illegal. I have been able to have it once a week or so without any problems, I do use dairy free chocolate. Thanks for the comment,

  4. I made these today! I've been craving a salty sweet combo so I did something weird. I sprinkled a touch of celtic sea salt on top right before baking. I may be the only one in the world who would - but I loved them. Thanks!
