I thought I would share one of my favorite summer time meals....butternut squash fries, ranch dressing and Applegate Hot Dogs (organic grass fed beef with no sugar added) bbq'ed on the grill with some Bubbie's dill relish (no sugar added and with active cultures). YUM!
Note: Please verify that hot dogs (the casing in particular) are legal.
Looks luscious. With the rain this morning, butternut squash fries is now on the menu!
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity is that legal on SCD? I'm not implying it isn't or judging in any way, I was just curious because I didn't think that there was one (I want to say because of the casing but I'm not really sure). Also? I love butternut squash fries! I love having it with dripped yogurt that I've combined with mashed garlic and salt for a dip. So good!

Hi Stacey,
ReplyDeleteI don't know about the casing being legal, I was very strict with the SCD for 18 months and now I am more relaxed. Sometimes I forget and need to put a disclaimer in my post.I would not suggest eating hot dogs to someone in the healing phase of their recovery. Thanks for the reminder and I am going to try your yogurt dip, it sounds yummy!
The yogurt dip is really good (and this coming from someone who doesn't like yogurt!). I just bake a head of garlic and then mash it up with salt in a mortar and pestle and add it to the dripped yogurt. It's kind of bousin-esque.
