Chocolate Peanut Butter Candy

This is a hard time of year with all the goodies everywhere you look. I came up with this recipe because I absolutely adore Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and although this is not an SCD legal  recipe, (see this post if you have thoughts or comments on that) it is much lower in sugar and full of good for you coconut oil.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Candy

Chocolate Layer Ingredients:
1 c. cocoa powder
1/2 c. coconut oil, melted
1/4 tsp. salt
2-4 T. honey (I use only 2 T. but it is not sweet at all. Start with 2 and then taste to see if you want to add more)
1 tsp. vanilla

Peanut Butter Layer Ingredients:
3/4 c. peanut butter
3 T. coconut oil, melted
2 T. honey
1 tsp. vanilla

Method:
1. Line a 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper.
2. Combine the chocolate layer ingredients and mix well until there are no lumps. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
3. In another bowl combine the peanut butter layer ingredients and mix with an electric hand mixer. Gently spoon it over the chocolate layer in an S shaped pattern, try to dallop evenly over chocolate.
4. Using a knife pull through both layers to swirl them together, again using an S shaped pattern. Turn the pan 90 degrees and pull the knife through again.
5. Refrigerate 1 hour then cut into squares. Store in the refrigerator and serve cold.
